The RAS-AI project represents a decisive step toward smart, sustainable, and data-driven aquaculture. Its goal is to develop an autonomous, advanced management platform for recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), capable of monitoring and predictively optimizing key production processes — feeding, water quality, and energy consumption — through the use of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Edge Computing. By learning from both historical and real-time data, the system adjusts operational decisions automatically, improving resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Through a hybrid architecture that combines edge and cloud processing, RAS-AI integrates sensors, machine learning algorithms, and predictive control models. This enables the system to detect anomalies, anticipate aeration or filtration needs, and adapt feed dosage to real environmental conditions and fish behavior. The result is a pioneering tool that drives precision aquaculture, enhances production performance, and reinforces FishFarmFeeder’s commitment to applied innovation and sustainability in the aquaculture sector.
