Pre-installation and commissioning of an FFF feeder
These are the tasks that must be performed by the client:
In this article, we focus on the part of interest to our customers: How is the centralized feeder delivered and installed on the aquaculture farm? We also detail the tasks that remain to be completed by the customer upon delivery of the feeder.
Once the centralized feeding system has been manufactured and tested in our factory, we will ship it to the customer’s facilities, which must be ready for reception and commissioning.
At the same time as the feeding system is manufactured, the customer must adapt its facilities for its reception and installation. So that upon receipt, commissioning and staff training can be completed within a maximum period of 5 days.
PRE-INSTALLATION
1. Enable space for the feeder
The feeder should be installed on a sturdy, horizontal surface. Depending on the climatic conditions where it is located, it may be recommended to install it indoors (or in a custom-made shed), protecting not only the feeder but also the food from adverse conditions such as humidity, heat, etc.
2. Pipe installation
The pipe must be High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) certified for food use, using the one indicated by our engineering based on the distance to be fed, the size of the pellets and the size of the doses.
For more information on pipe requirements and installation, see the following article:
3. Electrical installation
4. Data cabling installation
RJ45 or fiber data cabling will be required to connect the feeder to the computer location.
5. Spreader installation
Using a spreader to distribute feed over the largest possible surface area of water is a fundamental part of optimizing feeding. As a preliminary step before installing spreaders in all tanks, it is recommended to perform tests to determine the type of spreader and its characteristics. This will allow to monitor and analyze its performance for optimal installation.
More information about the types of spreaders is detailed in the following article:
COMMISSIONING
Once the feeder is installed and all pre-installation is complete, our technicians will proceed with commissioning and training, both in maintenance and in the use of the feeder and its software, allowing complete independence not only in its operation but also in its maintenance.
