Ricardo Mello is a Brazilian agronomist with a master’s degree in Animal Science/Aquaculture and over 25 years of industry experience, having held general management, sales, and marketing positions at multinational companies based in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He brings to FFF his network and expertise regarding shrimp, tilapia, and other tropical fish species—segments that still lag behind cold-water species in terms of technology.

“In aquaculture, efficiency is driven by genetics, nutrition, and husbandry. I have worked with nutrition and genetics for several years, and naturally, there is still room for advancement in these areas. However, I believe that husbandry is the pillar with the greatest potential for improvement, especially in tropical aquaculture. I am firmly convinced that automation, digitalization and other AI solutions that lead to data-driven decision making will play a key role in increasing farming efficiency, helping producers achieve greater profitability and making the value chain more sustainable.”

Ricardo will be responsible for the global commercial strategy, helping FFF consolidate its position in existing markets and penetrate new ones, especially in Asia and Latin America.

“I have known the company for several years and am very excited about this new challenge of joining FFF. Although it involves aquaculture, it is a new field for me. I look forward to learning from the team while also sharing my knowledge to help FFF to fit its solutions for tropical fish and shrimp species.”
